Light in the World Ministries Dec 2012

Matt 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled…”

We are seeing this very clearly in Africa right now. In the eastern part of Congo is a city called Goma that during the month of November was taken over by an armed rebel group called M23. This region has seen repeated conflicts over the years and is very unstable. In the past the School of Christ has been run in the cities of Bukavu, Goma and Uvira in the Eastern part Democratic Republic of Congo. We had planned running a school in a city called Butembo in November, but one week prior to the running the school everything had to be put on hold because of the takeover of M23. This unfortunately meant we are not able to run the school there as planned, but we continue to look for it to open up for the future. We will be meeting with pastors and SOC graduates from eastern DRC in Uganda next week to discuss how we can continue the work in that region under these hostile conditions.

Nebbi 2012-11

Uganda, Nebbi

This is the first time that we have run a school in Nebbi, which is located in the Northern part of Uganda. We had 26 students come through the school that lasted 3 weeks.

Kirehe, Rwanda

Rwanda, Kirehe district

Because of a resounding interest from the last school we ran in this district, we agreed to run another school in this area. We had many Pentecostal pastors who had not been able to attend the previous school, come through this one that we ran in November. There were 34 graduates of this School.

South Africa, Pretoria

I was contacted a few months ago by a previous graduate who went through the first school I ran in Pretoria in South Africa. He told me he had been running the school in the church and asked if I could come and visit the graduation. I was not able to attend the first graduation but I went for the second. It was a great blessing to see so many young people who had come through the school, who were fired up for Jesus, praying and studying the Word of God. I am planning on traveling back at the end of January for a joint graduation of two schools from December and January.

Upcoming in December

In December we had plans to run a school in Tanzania, unfortunately, violence has erupted in that area as well. We have postponed the school until January.

I am leaving this week to meet with former students in Burundi. I will then go to the border of Congo to meet with pastors who are former school of Christ students, as mentioned previously. God willing, on the 16th I will travel to Nigeria and Togo to meet with former students and encourage the forward movement of the school in these countries.

At the end of the month we will be running a school in Kinshasa (capital of Congo) and are expecting about 50 students.

Colossians 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance to speak the mystery of Christ…God Bless,
