John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
The above scripture has been on our hearts for many years, as we have sought diligently to follow the Lord’s leading in the open doors before us. We have always realized that present opportunities may not always be there. I am sure that many of you have felt the same thing in your lives and sought to glorify the Lord as well.
During this recent situation with COVID-19 my thoughts have often gone back to this scripture. I am so thankful for the brief opportunities that God has given us to go through the open doors and to take the Gospel into the continent of Africa. It amazes me how quickly everything has been closed, in a moment of time.
Now is the time for the Church in these nations to apply what they have heard through the Schools we have run and be the vessel God wants them to be. Even the wonderful new technological advances and means of communication can never replace the bodily presence of saints of God, living out Christ’s life upon the earth. Please continue to pray for the brothers and sisters in Africa during this time.
All the schools that were planned for Africa are presently postponed. I have been in communication with our Directors and many of their countries have been closed to visitors and quarantine restrictions are in place. We are monitoring the situation in each country and will resume classes, Lord willing, as soon as possible.
Our first school to open back up will be in July or August, tentatively in the countries of Cameroon and Mali.
Thank you for prayers.
