Luke 5:17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

I am starting this update with a testimony from one of the students that attended the School of Christ training at the beginning of this year. I hope it will be a blessing to you and highlight “why” we run these schools.  Over the years, as we have run the school across Africa, we have seen and continue to see lives changed by the power of the Gospel. To God alone be all the praise!

“Among the senior pastors, there one of them that cried so much during the training, everybody was wondering what is happening to him and at the graduation he made us know that he was a senior pastor of a very big denomination and under him were several churches of the denomination, because of envy and jealousy, they set up some allegations against him and finally he was sacked from the denomination.
From that day he said he will never go to church again or preach the gospel again, and for ten years he never went to church him and his family.
When he hears of the training announcement on radio, he ignored the announcement but the voice keeps on telling him: go to that training I send those people for you, only for you I sent them.
He said the voice becomes very loud that he decides to go so that the voice will leave him alone, and when he comes and the lessons starts with the series of the conflict, he cried so hard that his shirts was full of tears and after that week, for the first time in ten years he gathers his family, all of them confess their sins to God, repent and go back to church and the first time in ten year he went to the market to preach the gospel and evangelize the lost.”

Last month of February, we completed two schools: one in a place called Utegi, Tanzania and the other in Lome, Togo. This month of March, we have two schools running: one in Tarime, Tanzania and Ndinzi, Uganda.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support for this work. Please remember our directors in Africa as they continue to run the schools faithfully in difficult situations and please pray also for me as I traverse the continent checking on the running of these schools.

Upcoming schools for the month of April are in Niger and Rwanda. Yours in Christ and for His Kingdom.

Psalms 43:3  O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

This month of January, we completed two schools, the first was in Rwampara, Uganda (East Africa) and the second was in the country of Ghana (West Africa)

The school in Uganda was a great joy to the hearts of the pastors. We had 46 students graduate (we started with over 60), many of them were church leaders. They were earnest, praying, digging into the Word of God, seeking Light and Truth from Almighty God.

I was able to visit for the final week and see the attentiveness to the Word and determined seeking of Gods face during prayer.  One of the students would get up at 5am each day and walk 5km (3.1miles) to participate in the school, returning home in the evening.  Some of them slept in the church during the week and went home at the weekend.

We continually have requests from across the nation of Uganda to bring the school training to them and we are thankful to be able to answer.

The schools that have already started this month of February are in Togo (West Africa) and Tarime, Tanzania (East Africa)

Exodus 14:15

(15)  And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Dear Friends,

We trust you’re all well after the holidays. Another year passes by and the key word for me is to keep moving forward. Yesterday is gone, today and tomorrow present fresh opportunities to do the Lord’s Will and see His Kingdom established in the hearts of humanity.

Thank you all for helping us in 2022 to further the schools we run across Africa. We are looking forward to a great year in 2023! We are starting our first schools of the new year in a few days in Uganda and Ghana.

John 5:19

(19)  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

In the month of October this year, we graduated schools in Rwanda and Ivory Coast and in November we completed schools in Uganda and Senegal.  This was our first time in the country of Senegal and we are looking expectantly forward to running a school there again.

We are left with one final school of the year in Nyamata, Rwanda starting on December 5th. Below are the schools we have had the opportunity to run this year. I find it hard it to believe that we were able to complete 19 schools!

I know God is doing a real work in Africa. He is raising up His preachers and strengthening His church, all in fulfillment of His purpose here upon the earth.

I’m looking forward to what the Lord has in store for 2023.

Light In The World Ministries October 2022

I start this update with testimony from a pastor who attended one of the schools we completed this year. I thank God for the simple effect that prayer and the Word of God anointed by the Holy Spirit can have upon people’s lives.

(This testimony has been translated from French.)
I want to thank God for the privilege granted to me to be part of this training. In the beginning I was not expecting something extraordinary for this training because I have been through many trainings, so I said to myself that it will be one of those trainings again. I have been in ministry for more than fifteen years but I have never encountered a training that really talks to me directly in this manner. Before I came here, I am arrogant, full of pride about things I thought God is doing through me, I don’t have a real prayer life and don’t study the word of God. I only pray when I come to church. My attitude made my wife and children very uncomfortable to be with me, but this training changed me. My prayer life is restored; I’m now a broken vessel, all my prayer is “God, make me what you want me to be.” Before I come to the school I always like people to notice me and appreciate what I do but now am ashamed of what I was and all I need is the mercy of God. My prayer life is restored, I love the word of God and I read it every day, my family is reunited and my attitudes toward my colleagues change.
To God be the glory.

Acts 5:42

(42)  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers and support in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is worthy of all honor and praise!

In the month of July, we have run three schools in three different countries. Two of those are shown above, the first one was in Tanzania, and the others were in Uganda and Mali.

Pastor Charles Chamblee accompanied me for the graduation of the school in Kyankwanzi Uganda. We then traveled to two other remote areas of Uganda: Mubende and Ndinzi, encouraging and strengthening former SOC students. It was a great time in the Lord!

This month of August we have started another school in Burkina Faso. This school is at the request of an organization made up of pastors in Burkina Faso that wanted to be trained through the School of Christ.  The Lord has wonderfully provided specifically for this project. At present, the plans are to run the school on a Bi-monthly basis for six schools. We are trusting the Lord of the harvest to use these schools to raise up laborers to reach Burkina Faso for Christ!

In the month of September, we have two schools planned: one in Ghana and the other in Uganda. You may have noticed we have had several schools running in Uganda lately. The Lord continues to open doors with rural pastors and bishops who want the school to come to their area. By God’s grace, we continue to move forward to meet the need as He provides.

Ephesians 2:13

(13)  But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Greetings in the Mighty Name of Jesus,

Thank you all for your prayers and continued support. We are blessed to have seen God stir the hearts of pastors and leaders of churches in Burkina Faso and Tanzania during the month of June.

By God’s grace, in these schools we are seeing renewed hearts of saints returning to the altar of prayer. The result is a restoration of Bible believing and obeying men and women of God, stirred to see God work in revival and soul-saving power in their local communities.  It is the simplicity of Acts 6:4 at work, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”  There are no gimmicks, no games, just hearts that are hungry for truth, burning with a desire to make Christ known everywhere.

This month of July we have three schools running in the following countries. Please remember our directors in prayer as they are often in difficult situations. Doors are opening before us and we need the wisdom of God to handle everything in accordance with the Holy Spirit’s will and direction.

(Mathew 24:14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Dear Friends

This month of June we have schools running in Nyamongo, Tanzania and also Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

We are so thankful to be part of this work that God is doing amongst the leadership of the churches in the continent of Africa.

To quote B.H.Clendennen from the series of Rebuilding The Gate:

“God Is getting us ready – getting His church ready – His preachers ready. He is raising up men of God, putting the fivefold ministry around them.”

I believe this. God is not dead! His work is continuing and moving forward!

Light in The World Ministries May 2022

(Psalm 19:7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Obedience to the Word of God brings more deliverance and saves more lives than all the learning of complex theology.  In running these schools our purpose is not merely to teach the Word of God, but that the students become the message they are hearing. For truth to become effective it must be practiced.

We have rejoiced to see countless pastors’ lives changed as they have gone through the school, have taken hold of the altar of prayer, and have presented their bodies afresh unto Christ so that His Will could be accomplished through their lives.

These last few months have been a busy but very profitable time.  Here are the countries where we have recently run the School of Christ training.

Tanzania – During the month of February and March we sponsored two schools, one in a place called Mugumu, and the other in the city of Mwanza. This was a great blessing in these pastors’ lives as they were changed by the Word of God.

We also graduated schools in …

March Uganda (Nakivale).

March/April Niger (Niamey).

February Togo (Lome)

Please be in prayer for the upcoming schools this month in Uganda and Eastern Congo and in the month of June in Burkina Faso and Tanzania.

(Rom 1:15)  So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

We recently ran a school in the country of Uganda in a rural area called Rwamwanja, with 35 students in attendance. It is always a blessed time running the schools in these rural areas, as the pastors are generally more apt to receive the Word of God with meekness of heart and mind. Some of the testimonies received from the students during this time are as follows and are abbreviated to save space.

One preacher told how they had a deep-seated quarrel with a neighbor. During the series of “Repentance” in the school, the Holy Spirit worked in their hearts to confess their wrong and go back home to make restitution. This brought about a restoration of friendship with their neighbor, and during the remainder of the school saw an increase in this preacher’s personal prayer life.

Another pastor shared how the lesson on “Church and Home Relationships” deeply affected them. They saw that all true Christianity must affect their home life before we can successfully see it affect others.

During graduation, one pastor communicated how his church had been growing cold, but now his eyes were opened to see the need of revival. He went home to preach the precious truths he had learned to the flock entrusted to his care and was seeing the beginnings of a stirring for God in the hearts of his congregation.

One pastor was blind. The other students would lead him by the hand to the classes, where he sat and listened to the Word of God every day. To see him rejoice and praise God for what he had received in the school was truly humbling. It is such a privilege to be entrusted with this Gospel!

Please continue to pray. God is doing great things. If we can help these dear saints walk with Jesus, we have accomplished our purpose in running these schools.

We have already started our next schools this month of February.  One in Lome, Togo (West Africa) and the other in Mugumu, Tanzania. I shall be traveling to be with these schools in the coming weeks.
