Light in The World Ministries January 2022

I am thankful we have access by faith into this grace, wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Although the days we are living in are uncertain and perilous, we still have access to our Lord and Saviour who changes not, is not discouraged nor distraught over present world happenings.

As a ministry, we have sought to enter through the doors that have opened in the year of 2021. God has enabled us, to continue to run discipleship schools across the continent of Africa. I am amazed that God has done so much with so little, but it has been His doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.  Time and eternity are relentless critics of the work we do and will show forth whether what has been accomplished is wood, hay, and stubble, or gold, silver, and precious stones. (1Cor3:12). It is for the latter we strive, by His grace.

Listed below are the schools we have run in 2021.

1 Thessalonians 2:1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:

I’m so thankful we have an open door into Africa! More importantly, the Lord has granted entrance into the hearts of the pastors that are presently going through the schools.

This month of November, I returned from a trip to Africa that included the countries of Kenya, Ivory Coast and Tanzania. It was a profitable time.  We are seeing a great desire for spiritual reality in the lives of the pastors we train.

Let me highlight three of the countries, we have been working in this last month.

  • Ivory Coast: I visited this school for the last week of class and the students had been stirred in their hearts.  In the final week of study, they agreed to meet each night to pray from twelve (midnight) to three am. This was in addition to the times of prayer in the regular running of the school.

  • Tanzania: I remember the first time I came to Tanzania was in 2008 when I ran the school in a place called Mwanza. Since that time the school has spread across many of the Tanzanian regions.  During this year of 2021, we were officially invited back to Mwanza to run the school again with a pastor’s fellowship within the city.  What a joy it was to see God work in the leaders’ hearts as they grew in humility, sought holiness, desired God’s will and truth, and prayed through.
  • Uganda: Our country director, had requested a school in October 2021. I gave the go ahead and such was the response to the school that 72 students signed up. Of which 60 graduated after the month’s training.  We have registered 40 for the new class starting in January 2022.
  • Kenya: All year long we have been running schools in Nairobi. Although we have not had the numbers the other schools have, we have seen a steady trickle of pastors come through the classes, sometimes 10 students, other times 15.  In October and November, we have run two schools.

It is always wonderful when God visits and heals people’s bodies, but a much greater work is done when God opens spiritually blinded eyes to truth, convicts the heart and conscience and sets it on things above.  This is the beginning of revival.

Our purpose is to run training programs called the School of Christ. These month-long training sessions specifically aimed at Church leadership, establish students in Biblical doctrines required for life and godliness. Inclusive in the training is the necessary prayer meetings that forge the student to become a vessel of revival that God can use in these last days.

2 Corinthians 4:1-2
1)  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2)  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Dear Friends,

We do trust and pray that you are all well.

At the end of September, I was able to travel to Tanzania where we graduated our second school in Kahama (Tanzania). The pastors in attendance were thankful for the privilege of hearing the Word of God. What a blessing to see these pastors hungry for God’s Word and desirous to pray.

The greatest difficulty any ministry faces is to create spiritual hunger. Unless God works a miracle in people’s hearts there is no going forward.  God must create this spiritual desire.  We can ensure the environment is conducive to Spiritual matters, but the Lord must build the house.  Truly we have an entrance here in Africa to the lives of many pastors who are willing to be in attendance for the schools we run. We are seeing first-hand the hunger He is creating in the pastors’ hearts, and we are grateful.

During the month of September, we also completed a school in the country of Mali.

This month of October we have schools in

Kenya: Nairobi
Tanzania: Mwanza
Uganda: Kamwenge
Ivory Coast: Abidjan.

Acts 4:31

31)  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

In July, we graduated our second school in Tanzania this year in a place called Kahama. We rejoice that we were able to run the school with these Pastors and evangelists that attended this training.

Due to the good report from Tanzania, we have decided to run two more schools this year in that country. The doors are open and there are pastors that are hungry and requesting the training.  The next one starting in September will be again in the town of Kahama, and then afterwards in the month of October we will move the school to a place called Mwanza.

At the present, we have a school started this week in Mali with 35 students in attendance.  God has given us favor in this predominately Muslim dominated country.  Pray for our director as he guides the school there.

We were due to run our third school in Kenya, but decided it would be wise to postpone until Covid restrictions have lessened in that country.

James 1:25

25)  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Thank you for your recent prayers for the schools in Africa and my travels.  We are so blessed to be able to serve our Lord Jesus Christ in this generation.  He is the only source of Sanity, Truth and Power in our lives.

My latest trip in June took me first to Uganda where I visited the School of Christ running in a rural area called Kyankwazi.  We had 26 students that graduated the class and rejoiced over the changed lives and ministries that had happened during this course.

My second stop was in Kenya, where I visited the school in Nairobi.

Thankfully, the schools in Kenya and Burkina Faso completed their training and graduated as planned.

In this month of July. we have graduated our school in Tanzania, Musonga (village) with 23 students.

We also started our second school in Kenya which has recently graduated.

We presently are running our second school in Tanzania in Kahama town,

In August we have schools planned for Kenya and the country of Mali.  In September we have an introduction class to the country of Senegal.  Please be in prayer for these schools.

Revelation 15:3-4

3)  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

4)  Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Dear All,

We trust and pray you are keeping well. The Lord has continued to advance the work in Africa, even with the uncertainties in the world because of Covid. Our scheduled training programs have been changing due to the government restrictions and lockdowns of the countries we are working in, but we continue to forge ahead, and will continue to do so as the Lord wills and provides. We are convinced now is not the time to shrink back, but to move ahead with purpose. Today is the day of salvation. The world still needs the Gospel.

Here is an update on the trainings that have taken place.

At the beginning of March, I visited Togo where pastors from three countries were gathered (Benin, Togo, and Ghana) for the School of Christ training.  The school ran for four weeks and was a great blessing. We had 24 leaders graduate, and we rejoice in God for all His goodness towards us.

From Togo we started a school in Ghana at a refugee camp located in Egeikron.  They have finished the four week training and have graduated with 30 students.

In Rwinkwavu, Rwanda a full-time school just finished and graduated with 19 leaders.

We are starting the school in Niger on the 19th April, and also are planning for the school to begin in Uganda.

Our classes for Kenya got postponed due to the government lockdown, but as soon as they open up we will be moving ahead with the training.

I will share with you  a testimony from a pastor from one of the refugee camps where we ran the school.

My name is PASTOR NEAMAIN PEKOUA, I have spent many years in bible schools for nothing, I know that I am not the kind of minister God want me to be, when I hear that the school of Christ is coming I register my name, I just say to myself, as the training is free and we will also eat three times a day, even if I go and the teachings are not good, I have not wasted my time for nothing like the other times; but the Lord God loves me so much, the kind of teachings I am looking for so long is the one I have seen here in the school of Christ. The prayer sessions, the teachings and the disciplines has made of me a man with assurance. Thank God for the life of the school of Christ and to those that makes it possible for us to eat very well during this training, we are refugees and that is ten years we are in this camp left on our own.

Please remember our directors in prayer as they travel to difficult places to run these training sessions.

Romans 12:3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

We started the new year with the continuation of a school running in Ghana.

The training took place in a refugee camp near to Takoradi N’zema, Ghana. If anybody has ever visited refugee camps, then you know the difficulties associated with such places.  Thankfully, we were able to graduate 35 students out of the 90 students that registered for the training. The school ran Monday through Friday for five weeks, with one hour prayer at the beginning and end of the day.

One of the great testimonies from this class was concerning an elderly man who is the leader of the camp where we ran the school. He gave his life to Christ during the graduation.  He confessed the Lord Jesus, forsook his idols, and called upon the name of the Lord. Praise God!

January we were supposed to have started the school in Rwanda, but the government placed the country in lockdown, forbidding people to meet. Then our director got Covid-19 with his family. They have recovered, but this has hindered our plans for the moment. We are regrouping and looking forward to a great school soon.

This month of February we are starting a school in Togo where pastors will gather from Ghana and Togo for the four-week training.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Ezekiel 1:9  Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

Ezekiel 1:12  And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

I love this description of the operation of God. All of God’s movement is with purpose.  God has eternal purposes which will be accomplished.  Our task is to get on board and move straight forward in the plan of God, not deviating to the left or right.

The month of November saw the graduation of two schools that we ran in Togo (West Africa) and Rwanda (East Africa).

We have exciting things ahead of us. We had a recent request to hold the School of Christ training in Ghana among refugees from Ivory Coast.  We will be running an introduction class there in the next few days, and if all goes well, we will be running a full school as soon as possible.

After the graduation of the school in Rwanda (East Africa), we had a pastor visit us from another district in that country asking us to please bring the school to them. He had a list of pastors that were ready for the training.  We have gladly given the go ahead for this school and we will be starting it January 11th. Please keep these students, Directors and their families in prayer as we begin 2021.

‘The fight is on, the trumpet sound is ringing out:
The cry, “To arms” is heard far and near;
The Lord of hosts is marching on to victory:
The Triumph of the Christ will soon appear.’

1 Timothy 1:5  Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Dear All,

Thank you for your continued prayers and support with the ongoing work in Africa.

In the month of September, we graduated our full-time training school in the country of Mali, West Africa.

The school is a challenge to all who would attend and affords the minister of the gospel the necessary time to draw aside and give attendance to prayer and the Word of God.  In this intense spiritual climate, God can work on the hearts to bring the necessary change to be a vessel of recovery and revival in our times.

We have started our next school in the country of Burkina Faso, and in this month of October we will also be starting schools in Kenya and Ivory Coast.
