Light In The World Ministries March 2019

Romans 16:20 (KJV)   And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

I recently returned from Uganda and Togo where we were running the School of Christ training.

In Uganda we had 36 students who attended the training in an area called “Nakivale.” Most of these students were pastors of Pentecostal churches.  They were displaced from their home countries of Congo and Rwanda due to genocidal actions years ago and have made their homes and established churches in refugee camps.

In the great commission we are told not only to go, but to also to teach the Word of God.  During the running of the school in Uganda it came to light, that a number of the pastors did not know what being Born Again meant.  Tradition had taught them that being born into a Christian family and getting water baptized, was all that was needed to secure salvation.  The fact of having a living relationship with Christ, evidence in a changed life was missing from the equation.  They claimed to be Pentecostal but without a Calvary experience. This is a pretense that would not grant entrance to heaven.  Thank God for His Word and allowing the entrance of His Word to bring to light the counsels of men’s hearts. “Thou desirest truth in the inward parts.” (Psalm 51:6).  Through God’s Word, repentance came to many hearts.

From Uganda I visited the school in Togo.  This school was for pastors and leaders from Ghana.  They traveled to Togo where we had a rented accommodation for the school.  We had 25 students in this school, the first week I was there visiting the school was a great blessing as the students were praying, seeking God’s face, and hearing the Word of God.  This revives the heart and centers the affections on things above.

In this month of March we are now running a second school in Uganda.

Happy New Year.

We have started this year with a school presently running this month in the town of Nakivale, Uganda, close to the border of Rwanda.

Below is the proposed schedule for this year of 2019. We are looking forward to a great year in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Thank you for praying for the schools. One pastor trained in the Word of God and prayer, sent forth full of God’s life will make a difference in his community, country and world.

Light in The World Ministries October 2018

I trust this post finds you well and daily abiding in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I recently returned from Africa, where I was present for the opening of the school in Togo.  Twenty-six students gathered from different parts of the country for this four-week training.  The first week of class is usually the most difficult as people adjust to the intensity of the training, but from the beginning these students were ready to pray and hear the Word of God.

The second part of the trip was spent in Kenya, where we graduated a school and hosted a conference for former students. We also brought our directors together that are running the school throughout Africa.

God has given us faithful men who carry the same vision and burden for the school. I consider it a privilege to be working with them. They have a Divine vision for the Church in Africa to be raised up and fulfill its God given commandment of taking the Gospel into the entire world.

We started our third school in Tanzania this year on the 22nd October in a place called Dodoma, which is  the capital city.

Light In The World Ministries Update September – October 2018

“Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be,
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.”  – Fanny Crosby

Dear Saints,

I trust you are all well and rejoicing in our “so great salvation!”

In my last update, I mentioned the school that is running in Nakivale, Uganda.  Thank you for those who have asked and prayed about this school.  It is going well. Our Ugandan director has been running the class and they plan to graduate this coming weekend.

Also, we will start our next school this upcoming week in the country of Togo, city of Lomé.  The brethren on the ground have been conducting both revision and introduction classes around the country in anticipation for this event. We are asking the Lord for a time of real revival and Biblical instruction in this class.

October 10th-14th we will hold our 3rd annual “School of Christ Kenya” conference in Nairobi. For the first time, I have asked the Directors we work with across Africa to travel and be present at this year’s conference. We are praying for a time of refreshing from the Presence of the Lord and for our hearts and minds to be renewed as to what we are doing and why we are doing it. We appreciate your prayers for this time as we seek to keep to the original vision of making disciples in Africa through the School of Christ.

Seeking and desiring to do God’s Will

Light In The World Ministries July 2018

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of the ministry, as we continue the onward work of training pastors and leaders in Africa.

In July we completed schools in

  1. Katoro, Tanzania.  We had 25 students gather for the training and 24 graduated.

We have run the school of Christ training in Tanzania for many years.  The Lord has graciously given us an open door and favor in the hearts of many Pastors and Bishops in different regions in this country.  It is a large nation and we have many requests from different districts for the training.  Because of the demand from the pastors in this region, we started our second school this year in August. Tanzania has proven good ground to sow the seed of the Word of God upon.  Many of the pastors represented here have influence over many churches.

  1. Ouagadogou, Burkina Faso.   16 graduates.

Ouagadogou is the capital city of Burkina Faso and students travel from outlying towns and villages to attend the four week training.  Thanks to our director, Shalom, the training does not remain in the capital but also runs in other areas.

1 Corinthians 1:21 KJV
(21)  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Dear All, thank you for your prayers.

We have three schools running this month of June.

The first one is in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso which started on June 5th and will graduate July 1st. In the month of May we ran revision and introduction classes in Burkina in different cities, inviting pastors to come for the training in the capital city of Ouagadougou.

The second school is being run in Tanzania in a town called Katoro in Geita Province. It starts this week and will graduate July 5th.

The third school is a new opportunity in the country of Angola.  For many years we have tried unsuccessfully to gain entrance to this country to run the School of Christ, but now the Lord has given us an opening. This has required a considerable amount of logistical work from our directors in Congo and Togo, who have traveled back and forth to establish this new school.  They will start the school on June 18th , God willing.

Matthew 5:6 (KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

What a great privilege it is to meet with saints across the world who are hungry for the Lord Jesus Christ.  I was recently in the country of Rwanda, in a town called Nyagatare, located in the North Eastern part of Rwanda.  Thirty-five pastors and leaders were gathered for the School of Christ training. Every day many of them traveled over five miles by foot to attend the training we were hosting.  All of them were so thankful for the Word of God, time spent in prayer and the privilege of participating in the training.

This kind of testimony is always very humbling. People talk much about prosperity and it is always in a material sense. Yet people are far richer who may have nothing of this world’s wealth yet have a hunger and desire for God’s Will and Righteousness.  This was reality for these students in Rwanda.

In the month of April, we graduated two other schools. One was in Kenya with fourteen students, two of which were students from South Sudan.  Also, in Niger we have just completed our first school.

One leader in Rwanda said, “We have been in darkness listening to every false prophet that came along, thinking it was the Word of God. But now we have the Truth and we can stand strong to make a difference in our churches and communities.”

2Th 2:13
(13)  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

I am rejoicing for the work that the Lord is doing in Africa.  I just returned from a trip checking on the schools we were running in Benin, Ghana and Uganda.

In Benin we graduated 16 students, Ghana 20 students and Uganda 34 students.

I am amazed how God deals with the student’s hearts. In each school we run, a particular truth is made relevant. It is not that the teaching changes, that always stays the same, but through the teaching God’s Spirit seems to pinpoint areas that need addressing.  In the schools we ran, the recurring area of emphasis was a lesson entitled “The Church and Home Relationships.”

During my trip three pastors from the various schools testified how this lesson had really challenged their lives to go beyond what their culture dictates and live in accordance with God’s Will.  Issues of anger and violence were brought to light, and they saw the necessity to take Christ, not just to Church, but into the home itself.

Upon the graduation of the school in Uganda two pastors made public confession and asked their wives to forgive them for the wrong they had done.  Only God can work in a human heart like this, bringing humility and repentance.  How great is our God that would reconcile a home and reveal Christ!

Change a man and you change a home, change a pastor and you change a church, change a church and you change a nation.

Please be in prayer for the upcoming schools in April.  We are running our first school in the country of Niger. Our director from Togo has been visiting with the senior pastors to arrange this school starting next month.  Also, in April we have schools running in Rwanda and Kenya.

God Bless you all for prayers. May the Lord be glorified!
