Light In The World Ministries, Year In Review 2017

Thank God for Jesus! It is so precious to have sins forgiven, peace with God and to be delivered from the corrupting influence of self.  All because Christ was born into this world, died on the Cross for our sins and rose again on the third day.

I have been reminded these last few weeks as I have studied God’s Word, how He chose insignificant people to accomplish His will.  In the book of Nehemiah, we see recorded names of the people of God, but no mention of their extended family or how they lived their lives. What we do know about them is that they were part of the great reconstruction of Jerusalem and it’s Temple. God knew them, and they were significant enough to have their names placed within His Holy Word.

As Christians we all have a place of service and function in God’s Kingdom whether it be known or hidden. Part of our service to God is the great Commission – the responsibility to take the Gospel into all the World.  We may not all be able to Go Forth, but we can be active in the praying, sending and witnessing in our local communities.

Our part in and vision for the ministry the Lord has entrusted to our care, is to train and disciple both present and future pastors and leaders of the Church in Africa.

Thank you to all of you who pray and support what we do.  We may seem to be an insignificant minority, but to be faithful, to do the Will of God is all we ask.

The fulltime schools that have been sponsored this year across Africa are as follows.

January: Rwanda – Ntunga
February: Ghana, Uganda – Kamwenge, Democratic Republic of Congo – Mbuji Mayi
March: Tanzania – Ngara
April: Kenya, Nairobi

June: Burkina Faso – Ougadougou, Tanzania – Kayanga 2nd school this location. August: Cameroon – Yaounde
September: Benin Republic – Porto Novo, Democratic Republic of Congo–Goma
October: Togo – Lome
December: Ivory Coast – Tiassale

Thank you for all of you who have been an active part of the work this year. We pray for you and ask God for wisdom and guidance for the upcoming year of 2018.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

In the month of October we graduated three Schools.

1st Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo; 2nd Lome, Togo; 3rd Nairobi, Kenya.

This month of November and into December, we are running a school in Ivory Coast in a village call Tiassale – about four hours’ drive from Abidjan, the Capital City. We currently have 32 pastors registered for this training.

We were supposed to be running a school in Rwanda with 35 pastors, but an incident happened which gave fresh understanding to the Apostle Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians “…in perils among false brethren.”
Also 2 Thessalonians 3:1,2 …”Pray for us… that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men.”

Without going into detail, we have postponed this school until February of next year 2018.  Do pray for wisdom for me and for the directors on the ground, that we would exercise wisdom and discernment in every situation.

There is much that can crowd the Christian’s faith nowadays. In a lot of places marketing, business acumen and popular psychology have replaced the simplicity of faith, prayer and the preaching of God’s Word.  The message of the schools we run is “Life”.  The life of Christ made real in and through the Believer is the answer to every situation.

We have an open door in Africa for the penetration of God’s Word at this crucial time in history. God is raising up His Church, equipping them with Truth, so we can stand strong in these last days and see the salvation of people’s lives.

We sang a song in church last Sunday evening and the chorus has been ringing through my heart.

Little is much when God is in it,
Labor not for wealth or fame,
There’s a crown and you can win it,
If you go in Jesus Name.

(12)  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

We have two schools this month of September that are presently running.

1st Benin Republic city of Porto Novo.

2nd Democratic Republic of Congo city of  Goma.

In August a school was completed in Cameroon city of Yaounde.

I am so thankful to God for allowing us this opportunity to train and effect the leaders in this great continent.

Thank you all for standing with us.

(29)  But this I say, brethren, the time is short:…

Thank you to all that prayed for my last trip and the schools that we finished in Burkina Faso and Tanzania.  The Word of the Lord went forth into the hearts of the students and we believe God that there will be a harvest of righteousness in the days to come.

I was listening to the testimonies of the students who were going through the school and a couple of them deeply impressed me.  The first was a Pastor’s Wife in Burkina Faso who, after going through the series on the Cross, was convicted of how selfish she was in her prayers. She said that all of her praying had been about material needs for herself. Having heard the lessons from that series, she saw that she was to “live the life of another.” Christ was to live through her. This changed her prayer life drastically.

The second testimony was from a pastor in Tanzania, who after going through the school repented of being man-pleasing instead of being God-pleasing.  Sin had been overlooked within the church, which led to immorality among the worship team. A failure to deal with the issue had increased the problem.  The pastor made things right with God in the school and was going back to live for Christ and seek His good pleasure and not man’s approval.

This month we start a school in Yaounde, Cameroon. We are expecting 22 students with at least 2 students coming from Central Africa Republic.

Light In The World Ministries May 2017

Dear All,

It’s a busy time of year.  I have just returned from the country of Uganda, where we had supported the running of a School of Christ in a place called Adjumani.  This is located close to the border of South Sudan. The school we ran in Adjumani was focused on reaching pastors with the Word of God to strengthen and encourage them.

In the last two months we ran two schools in Tanzania, one in a place called Ngara and the other in Kayanga.  Oh! what a reception and hunger for the Word of God, and great humility displayed by the Leaders of the Churches who attended the training.  Such was the demand for the school in Kayanga that we had to refuse admittance to a number of pastors.  On the first day of the school there was a prominent church leader sat on the front row.  After the second lesson of the day we paused the class for a short break, but God didn’t take a break.  This leader started to pray and was weeping, thanking God for the opportunity to hear His Word.  We were all melted as a sincere heart cried out for Living God.

In Kenya we finished a school in Nairobi, last month and started another school this month of May.

We keep pushing the boundaries of the Kingdom of God, desiring to see the Leaders of the African Church rise up in strength and unity to declare the truth and victory of our Christ.

Because of the demand for the School in Tanzania we are starting another session in June in the same area.  Also we have a school planned for Burkina Faso the same month.

Light In The World Ministries March 2017

It continues to be a wonderful blessing to be a part of what the Lord is doing in Africa! Thank you for your continued prayer and support of the work. We are certainly all labourers together with the Lord for this harvest of souls!

In the month of March, we were able to run the following schools.

Togo – We ran a school with 20 pastors and leaders from the country of Ghana. We brought the students into Togo because we had facilities rented and the accommodation was in place to house them. The Lord moved in their lives mightily and they responded to the Word of God in truth.

Democratic Republic of Congo – We ran a full time school in a place called Mbuji Mayi with 72 students. There continues to be a great door opened in this country. We rejoice to have a faithful Director on the ground who is able to coordinate the running of the school in DRC.

Uganda – We ran a school in a place called Kamwenge with 38 students who graduated from the School. These pastors were hungry for the Word of God and responded to the teaching with open hearts.

Tanzania –  We are presently running a School in a rural location called Ngara with 27students.

Schools Running in April

We have Schools planned to run in Nairobi, Kenya and Kayanga, Tanzania with other schools being planned for Gabon and Burkina Faso in upcoming months.

Thank you for standing with us to see these pastors and leaders raised up to preach the Gospel in the great continent of Africa. It is a privilege to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of these men and women.

(1 Thessalonians 1:8 KJV) For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

(1 Thessalonians 1:9 KJV) For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

Dear All,

Thank you for your commitment to pray and help support the forward work of training pastors and church leaders across Africa.

I have just returned from a great trip to Rwanda. We have run the school in many districts across this country. This most recent class was in an area called Ntunga.

Thirty two Pentecostal Bishops and Pastors were present for this school.

One of the salient points of the school is its declaration of Truth as it is in Christ.   Immersed in prayer and the Word of God, these pastors were changed and at the end of the school came forward unified with the purpose of Christ to take the Gospel to their communities and nation.

This month of February we are presently running schools in Ghana; Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. I will be leaving next week to visit the schools in Uganda and Ghana.

Please continue to pray for our Directors in each of the countries and for myself that we would have the wisdom and mind of God to lead and direct the schools. There is a great door and effectual opened to us in this year of 2017.

Light In The World Ministries January 2017

Happy New Year! What a great 2016! Thank you to everyone who stood with us over the past year. By the grace of God, we were able to run schools in the following countries:

South Sudan, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Republic of Benin, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Kenya, Togo, Tanzania, Ivory Coast.

We are looking forward to a great 2017. We started on January 9th with a School of Christ running in Rwanda. Also this month we have the opportunity to introduce the SOC in Angola. Then in February, schools start in Ghana and Uganda.

Below is one of the recent testimonies from a school we ran in Ivory Coast in December 2016. (Note: translation is directly from French ).

“My name is Pastor KOUAME AYA JACQUELINE
School of Christ international has completely changed my life.
My intention when I was coming to the school is to add more knowledge
to the one I had before concerning the church and the ministry but to
my surprise I have discover in this school that I don’t even have any
knowledge of him nor to what is ministry. I was broken because I am
pastor and I am leading people, I have discovered that I am more lost
than the people I taught they are lost and I want to bring to Jesus.
I want to thank God for those who have provided for us for this training to take place in our
country, you are not only changing lives and you are changing a nation.
My prayer is that all pastors in this country should come to this school before it is too late
for them. As for me I have seen the light and I will never be in darkness again. Praise the

lord.”

We thank the Lord for this work He has enabled us to do together. We are humbled and grateful for His wonderful works among the children of men!

Light In The World Ministries December 2016

(1 Corinthians 2:2 KJV)  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Words fail to describe the great need across the world for the knowledge of Christ.
Having lived and labored abroad, the great need of the Church worldwide is to come back to the simple truths of salvation through the blood of Jesus, the centrality of the Cross, law and grace, the practical application of living the life of Christ, and life of obedience in accordance with the Word of God.
I am sure there were many things about which Paul could have labored and taught, but he determined to be set on one thing!
I have just returned from South Africa, Ivory Coast and Kenya.  In South Africa and Kenya I was joined by Keith Malcomson who helps to direct the School of Christ across Europe, we had three days revision classes and a conference in both places.
In South Africa the most recent School of Christ training session had been for drug addicts.  It was wonderful to meet young people presently in the school whose lives had been changed by a Living Christ.  One young man had been on the streets for ten years addicted to heroin.  He is now Born Again and presently going through the school.  We also had three ladies in the conference who, during the school, repented of being involved in witchcraft and brought their occult items to be burned.  We set it alight and rejoiced in the freedom that Christ brings to human hearts.

Schools that were completed this month of December were in Abidjan, Ivory Coast and also we graduated a school in the Kinshasa prison Democratic Republic of Congo.

I rejoice daily at I rejoice the open door that is set before us in Africa.  I don’t know how long we will have the opportunity to see the schools established across the African continent, but while we the door is open we have made it our policy go through it.
At the end of October we graduated a school in Harare, Zimbabwe.  It was one of those difficult schools where circumstances don’t seem to work in our favor, but nevertheless situations like these serve as good training points.  We graduated 20 students.
We had a great school Lome, Togo – again, 20 graduated.  The brethren in Togo on the ground have done a great job in organizing and maintaining the discipline and being accountable for finances.  I’m thankful to God that he has given us some faithful men. Please continue to pray for them.
November we graduated a school in Lagos, Nigeria with 13 students.
In Nioki, Democratic Republic of Congo we finished a full-time school with 33 students.
