Light In The World Ministries Update May 2025

Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.

1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

“A rising tide raises all boats.” The open doors we have in the continent of Africa have given us the signal opportunity to affect individual pastors and churches, which further affects a change in the Body of Christ at large.  We must not undervalue the effectiveness of the preached Word through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We have recently completed full-time schools in the following countries:

Mbarara, Uganda: 40 Students graduated.  This is the second time we have been invited to run the training for an extensive pastor’s fellowship in this area.

Mahama, Rwanda:
36 students graduated, outside of Mahama refugee camp (60,000 refugees from Congo, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan). Most of the pastors in this school operate churches within the camp.

Maradi, Niger: 26 students graduated, many of them come from very dangerous situations, pastoring under the threat of persecution from Islam.

Goma, Congo: 23 students graduated, after the recent distress and killings in this area we were able to take advantage of a season of peace and run the school.

There is a young man who recently graduated from the school. He was living on the streets, a Rastafarian drug addict. He got wonderfully born again and went through the School. After a season of fasting and prayer, the Lord convicted him about wasting his time scrolling on his cell phone. He repented, gave his phone away and is now using his time learning skills to provide for his future.  He is on fire for Christ, and ready to preach the gospel on the streets, churches and in the whole world.

Our next schools in June and July:

Rwenjeru Uganda
Tanzania
Bamako, Mali
South Africa
(we have been invited to come run the school for a group of believers who are self-supporting the training)

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and concern for the training of these pastors and leaders. It is a privilege to be a part of what God is doing in His church all over Africa.
To God be all the Glory!

Psalms 119:114  Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Thank you for your prayers, we graduated schools in the month of April in the following areas.

City                       Country
Kampala              Uganda
Muhanga             Rwanda
Niamey                Niger

Uganda April. When it was suggested we run the school training in the capital city of Kampala Uganda, I was hesitant because it is notably difficult to get pastors in the capital cities to come to a four-week training daily from 6am to 7pm. So, I was surprised at the response.  We had 63 students who started the training, and 53 of them finished. 43 of them were senior pastors from the surrounding areas.  There has been an increased desire among the church leaders for the training we offer and a great hunger for God’s Word. We thank the Lord for what He did in the lives of these leaders!

Niger April. We continue to run this once yearly school in this country. We had 31 graduates,  17 of them are senior pastors.   Many of these pastors are leading churches in difficult situations.

“Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right Man on our side,
the Man of God’s own choosing.
You ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth his name,
from age to age the same;
and he must win the battle.”

Light In The World Ministries Update August / September 2015

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (55)  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (56)  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

(57)  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

August was a busy month for the ministry.  We had schools running in five different countries.  The first was in Northern Cameroon in a place called “Maroua”. The purpose of this school was to draw pastors from the neighboring countries of Central Africa Republic (CAR) and Chad.  Due to civil unrest in the country of CAR it made it difficult for some of the pastors to travel into Cameroon.  The areas highlighted above are places of intense persecution for Believers. We pray that the pastors who went through the school were fortified in their lives to go back to their homes and take the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to those that don’t know Him.

Other schools that we ran in August were in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where we sponsored one school in Kinshasa (West DRC) and another in Bukavu (East DRC).

I visited a new school we were running in Ghana on the eastern side near to the border of Togo. This is the first time we have run a school in this region.

In Hammanskraal, South Africa we graduated a school on the 8th August.  The next school that I had planned to run in South Africa was booked for OctoberHowever, such was the demand from the pastors to run another school,  I agreed to run two more concurrently in the same area.  Both of these schools graduated on the 5th September after completing three weeks training.

In this month of September, we have great openings in the country of Kenya.  Our director, Joseph, has been able to introduce the school to 70 pastors in the Kisumu area of Kenya.  The school will be running there this month.

Light in the World Ministries July Update

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
God’s truth is marching on. He is not defeated. He is still on the throne. He is still saving, healing and delivering people. Praise His Name!
In my last email update, I mentioned about new doors of opportunity for the ministry in South Africa.

After the graduation of the full-time school in June, we started a day school with 21 students in a place called Soshanguve.
One of the pastors in attendance testified that his life had been changed and that he had met Christ in a very real way. The simplicity of knowing Jesus and making Him real worked deeply in his heart. He was stirred to take the message back to his church: that the answer to everything in life, is a fresh revelation of Christ. It is a testimony like this that keeps us encouraged in our labors.
At the graduation groups of pastors from different districts met with us desiring us to come and help teach their leaders.
It is not often we witness such a hunger, desire and willingness to help facilitate the training.  We started another school on the 20th July, in a place called Hammanskraal near to Pretoria, with 55 leaders present.
Ougadougou, Burkina Faso – This is the first time I had ever visited this country.  During the month of June we had forty students attend the training but due to disciplinary issues only twenty graduated.  Those that did not graduate will be able to attend again in the future.

Shinyanga, Tanzania – The host for this school was the vice-president of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (Canada) in Tanzania. He allowed us the use of his church and facilities and was also a student in the school himself.  He stated that many years ago in his district, the message of the Church used to be Biblically sound and God confirmed His Word with signs following. That message seems to have been lost in recent times as new preachers have brought in unstable doctrines to the church.  He greatly rejoiced that in the school there was a return to the truth – the sure foundation of what the Church was to be built upon.  Jeremiah 50:4-6

This month of July, we have started a school in South Africa as mentioned above. In Kenya our director met with over 200 pastors in an area called Kisumu to introduce the school.
In August we have two schools running in Democratic Republic of Congo one on the east side in Kinshasa and the other in a place called Bukavu on the west side. In the same month there are also schools running in Ghana and Kenya.

Thank you for your prayers.  I had a very blessed and encouraging trip to Ivory Coast via South Africa.  The update on each country is below.
South Africa – At the beginning of my journey I passed through South Africa to meet with a former student who is a pastor of a church in the townships surrounding Pretoria.  He ran the school in his church in 2012 and saw a move of God that brought a number of the young people from his area to faith in Christ.  This group of young people then became students through subsequent schools that were conducted in his church.  He has run the school on a part time basis in some of the other churches around the capital city of Pretoria.  We have committed to help support the gathering together of the local pastors during the next six months to introduce the school and afterward assess the possibility of running a full-time school with these pastors.
Ivory Coast – This was the main purpose of my trip. I spent some time with the present school to make sure everything was in place and done according to the discipline and training we have set in place.  Sometimes it is easy for things to get lax and wrong teaching to enter in; however, in this school I was very impressed with the fidelity and aptitude of the directors. The school was in a place called San Pedro about a six hour car journey from the capital – Abidjan.  We will be sponsoring another school in Ivory Coast in December, but the brethren there have plans to run more schools that will be self supported during this year.
Gabon – In January our director for Togo went to Gabon to make preparations for the running of the school in May.  There were over 200 pastors gathered for the introduction of the school in that country. Several of them were so interested, they traveled back to Togo with our director to get more information for their school in May.
This month of February, we presently have two schools running in Uganda and Rwanda.
Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Light In The World Ministries Update October 2014

Matthew 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support,

During the month of September I traveled to Uganda and Tanzania to be with Schools that were running.  It’s a great encouragement to see people’s lives changed and equipped to go forth and preach the gospel in all the world.

In our troubled times, we have to believe and know that we do have the answer.  It is not a new church program, new singing group or “new revelation,” but the answer is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why we must seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33),  that in all things he may have the preeminence (Col 1:18.)

We presently have schools running this month of October in the countries of Togo and Benin Republic in West Africa.  I will be leaving on Monday 20th October to work with the schools and directors in these areas and to plan for the future of the ministry there.

In the face of Ebola and militant Islam pray with us that out of these students a vanguard would rise up to live and demonstrate the power of God across West Africa.  We do have the answer!

1 Thessalonians 2:4

(4)  But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

I am thankful for the Lord’s reminder through the Word of God, that it is His Gospel, His Church, His Word and in His infinite wisdom He has entrusted the care of such to men.  So Paul states that his desire is to please God with that trust.

As the ministry moves forward in Africa, it is my desire that we would indeed please God with the work that He has entrusted to our care.

I just recently returned from Africa where schools were running in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo.

A school was planned for Nigeria, but it was canceled due to improper organization. We have now postponed that school until November.

It was our first time to run a school in Burkina Faso. We had 45 pastors in attendance from different organizations but mostly from the Assembly of God church. During the second week of the training we lost twenty of the pastors due to the discipline and teaching of the school.  Some of the pastors did not agree with the teaching, which caused disruption and confusion to the class, so they were asked to leave.  Thankfully, those who were hungry for truth and reality came through refined and ready to go back to their churches seeking to please God and be a blessing to God’s Church.

In Democratic Republic of Congo I met with the present class and former students of the School of Christ.  There is great team of workers in DRC who throughout this year have sought to take the school into other cities in their country.

Other schools that have graduated during this past couple of months are in Congo Republic (Brazzaville) and Togo.

We are presently running schools in this month of September in Uganda and Tanzania.

I do request your prayers for the the brethren on the ground in these countries who help us in forwarding the work of the Lord across Africa.  Please also remember me in prayer, that I would have wisdom in proceeding forth with the ministry across Africa.
