I returned from checking on schools that were running in Cameroon and Ivory Coast.  I’m so thankful for caliber of the directors that are working with us to see the school move across the continent of Africa.  In each of the schools there was spiritual life and understanding of the Truth of the Word of God. This worked itself into the anvil of daily prayer, fasting for each of the leaders that attended, seeking God for a move of His Spirit within their own respective families, ministries, communities and countries where these ministers are working in the gospel.

I have been reflecting since I got back on what has taken place this year. My heart is full of gratitude toward God to see His hand provide and forward the work of training leaders across the continent of Africa.

To quote the late B.H. Clendennen from the lesson “The Church is A Prophet”

“Prophetic ministry is in its totality, the ministry of spiritual interpretation.  It is the interpretation of everything from a spiritual standpoint. There never was a time when there was a greater need for such ministry.  That is, the need for a voice of interpretation – a spiritual voice interpreting things from a spiritual standpoint.  Millions are deceived today as the word of God is being interpreted from a carnal view.  Men have taken the scriptures and twisted them into lies.”

I may sound repetitive in saying this but this is the great need of the church in Africa and all over the world.  There is a desperate need to have the mind of God brought to His Church. I believe that, in the schools that we are running, there is an awakening of the leaders to come back to the foundation of God’s Church – which is Christ.  To once again let everything be done decently and in order, that is, to be patterned after Christ.

During 2014 we had plans to run the school in seventeen different countries across the continent, we managed to run it in fifteen of them. In some of the countries we were able to run more than one school.  Listed below are the full-time schools we financially provided for.  The countries are in bold script.

Gabon

Wau, South Sudan

Goma, DR Congo

Nairobi, Kenya (three schools, April, August, December we covered the cost of one and partially provided for the other two.)

Mubende Nebbi Uganda  (three schools, April and August in Mubende and then one school in Nebbi which we covered the director’s expenses and someone else sponsored the school.)

Rwanda,

Malawi,

Geita, Tanzania (Two schools)

D.R.Congo (We have been helping the school go forward in this country through partial support all year long, running schools in different areas of DRC.)

Congo (Brazzaville) (We have been helping the school go forward all year long.)

Burkina Faso

Togo,

Benin Republic,

Ivory Coast,

Cameroon

In some of these countries the directors have been helping to sponsor additional part-time classes.

LITWM is presently sponsoring a translation project in India, updating the Hindi version of the SOC.

Light In The World Ministries Update November 2014

2 Corinthians 9:15  Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

On the day of Pentecost men who were dead in sin and transgressions were brought into a living relationship with Christ Jesus.  Jerusalem, the place of intense religious dogma and tradition, the place where Christ was crucified, was now the chosen place for God to bring forth men and women of spiritual life and understanding. What was seemingly a small number of disciples left after the crucifixion of Christ, exploded into three thousand being added to the Lord (Acts 2:41). The fruit was there because of the death and resurrection of Christ.

Someone recently asked me what is the greatest miracle I have seen in running these training programs for pastors and leaders? There have been times during the schools where people have been healed physically of sickness and disease, and that is wonderful. But, the greatest miracle I have witnessed, is people who have come to the school with dead tradition and religion and have been brought forth unto life eternal, into a living experiential life with Christ to be lived out day by day and hour by hour. This is a work that only Christ can do in a man’s heart and life and it is a miracle!

I came back three weeks ago from a trip to Togo and Benin Republic, where the school was being run.  In both places it was a great encouragement to see the spiritual life of the leaders being changed and transformed.

In December we have full-time schools running in Cameroon and Ivory Coast.

Thank you for praying and supporting the work we do in Africa. We certainly know we are in this work together.

Light In The World Ministries Update October 2014

Matthew 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support,

During the month of September I traveled to Uganda and Tanzania to be with Schools that were running.  It’s a great encouragement to see people’s lives changed and equipped to go forth and preach the gospel in all the world.

In our troubled times, we have to believe and know that we do have the answer.  It is not a new church program, new singing group or “new revelation,” but the answer is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why we must seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33),  that in all things he may have the preeminence (Col 1:18.)

We presently have schools running this month of October in the countries of Togo and Benin Republic in West Africa.  I will be leaving on Monday 20th October to work with the schools and directors in these areas and to plan for the future of the ministry there.

In the face of Ebola and militant Islam pray with us that out of these students a vanguard would rise up to live and demonstrate the power of God across West Africa.  We do have the answer!

1 Thessalonians 2:4

(4)  But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

I am thankful for the Lord’s reminder through the Word of God, that it is His Gospel, His Church, His Word and in His infinite wisdom He has entrusted the care of such to men.  So Paul states that his desire is to please God with that trust.

As the ministry moves forward in Africa, it is my desire that we would indeed please God with the work that He has entrusted to our care.

I just recently returned from Africa where schools were running in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo.

A school was planned for Nigeria, but it was canceled due to improper organization. We have now postponed that school until November.

It was our first time to run a school in Burkina Faso. We had 45 pastors in attendance from different organizations but mostly from the Assembly of God church. During the second week of the training we lost twenty of the pastors due to the discipline and teaching of the school.  Some of the pastors did not agree with the teaching, which caused disruption and confusion to the class, so they were asked to leave.  Thankfully, those who were hungry for truth and reality came through refined and ready to go back to their churches seeking to please God and be a blessing to God’s Church.

In Democratic Republic of Congo I met with the present class and former students of the School of Christ.  There is great team of workers in DRC who throughout this year have sought to take the school into other cities in their country.

Other schools that have graduated during this past couple of months are in Congo Republic (Brazzaville) and Togo.

We are presently running schools in this month of September in Uganda and Tanzania.

I do request your prayers for the the brethren on the ground in these countries who help us in forwarding the work of the Lord across Africa.  Please also remember me in prayer, that I would have wisdom in proceeding forth with the ministry across Africa.

Light In The World Ministries June 2014

Thank you for those who have prayed for my recent trip to Africa.
The first country I visited was Malawi, in the city of Lilongwe.  In 2011 I had been contacted by a former student that went through the School of Christ.  His intention in communicating with me was to see the school go forward in Malawi.  At the beginning of 2012 I visited him and we started a part time school in his church, which has continued to run these past two years in the evenings and weekends.

This year I talked about the possibility of running a full-time school in Malawi.  On June 9th we started the school, and we had 28 pastors gather from different areas in Malawi. We housed these students at the church.  Great was the hunger for the Word of God and for the Spirit of The Lord to have His way amongst us!

The next part of my trip was to Kenya.  I have been involved in running the school in Kenya since 2007.  This trip was a revision class with the former students, so we reviewed the series of “The Conflict” and the series of “The School of Christ.”  The Director for the SOC in Uganda also joined us and there was great focus and unity of heart as we reviewed the lessons. Toward the end of the revision class we discussed with the former students how the school could move forward in Kenya.  We have already run one school in Kenya this year but as these students talked, they planned tentatively to run two other schools this year.
Geita, Tanzania
Geita, Tanzania
The final step of the trip was to Geita, Tanzania.  The School of Christ has been run in many places in Tanzania. We first started in Mwanza, then the school spread to many parts of the country. At one point we were running schools every month of the year.  There has always been a great hunger for the training from the Bishops and Pastors in Tanzania.  I had talked with our director for Tanzania about running one full-time school this year. We decided to run the school in Geita, which is a new area for us.  At the beginning of the school we faced a problem. We only had space for 26 pastors to attend the training and 80 pastors turned up, the first 26 were given a place and the others have to wait.  There is a great and effectual door opened to us there, so we are looking at running the school again in the months of August / September.
